Custom Cake Policies & Procedures

1. Ordering & Consultations

  • Orders must be placed at least 7–14 days in advance (longer notice required for wedding or large event cakes).

  • Orders are not confirmed until a signed agreement and deposit are received.

  • Consultations are by appointment only.

  • Final design details must be confirmed no later than 7 days before pickup/delivery.

2. Payments & Deposits

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your date.

  • Remaining balance is due 7 days before pickup/delivery.

  • Orders not paid in full by the due date may be canceled.

  • Accepted payment methods: (List your methods — Zelle, Venmo, Cash, Card, website, etc.)

  • Last-minute orders may require full payment upfront.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations made 7+ days before the event may receive a partial refund (minus deposit).

  • Cancellations within 7 days of the event are store credit only

4. Design & Custom Work

  • Inspiration photos are welcomed but final designs are subject to artistic interpretation.

  • Exact replicas of other decorators’ work cannot be guaranteed.

  • Minor design adjustments may occur due to product availability or structural integrity.

  • Colors may vary slightly from digital inspiration photos.

5. Pick-Up Policy

  • Pick-up times must be scheduled in advance.

  • Once the cake leaves the premises, the client assumes full responsibility.

  • Cakes must be transported on a flat surface (floorboard recommended, not seats).

  • Keep cakes refrigerated until 1–2 hours before serving.

6. Delivery Policy

  • Delivery is available for an additional fee based on distance.

  • We are not responsible for damage after delivery and setup is complete.

  • Client must provide a stable table and appropriate environment (indoor, cool area).

7. Allergies & Ingredients

  • Products may contain or come into contact with:

    • Wheat

    • Dairy

    • Eggs

    • Soy

    • Nuts

  • While we take precautions, we are not a nut-free or allergen-free facility.

  • Clients must inform us of allergies at the time of booking.

8. Storage & Care

  • Cakes should be kept refrigerated until serving (unless otherwise instructed).

  • Fondant cakes should be kept in a cool, dry place.

  • Best consumed within 48 hours.

9. Fresh Florals & Non-Edible Decor

  • Some decorations may be non-edible (supports, wires, toppers).

  • Fresh flowers are not food products and may contain pesticides. Proper barriers are used, but removal before serving is recommended.

10. Photography Release

  • We reserve the right to photograph all cakes for marketing and social media.

  • If you prefer your cake not be posted, please notify us in writing.

11. Acts of God / Force Majeure

  • We are not liable for delays or inability to fulfill orders due to circumstances beyond our control (weather, power outages, natural disasters, etc.).

Wedding Cake Policies & Procedures

12. Wedding Consultations & Tastings

  • Wedding cake tastings are by appointment only.

  • A tasting fee of $___ is required and may be applied toward your final balance if you book.

  • Final guest count and design details must be confirmed no later than 30 days before the wedding date.

13. Wedding Cake Booking & Payment Schedule

  • A non-refundable retainer of 50% is required to secure your wedding date.

  • The remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding.

  • Failure to complete payment by the due date may result in cancellation without refund.

  • No changes to design, size, or flavors may be made within 30 days of the event.

14. Design & Customization

  • Inspiration photos are welcome; however, each cake is custom-designed and will reflect artistic interpretation.

  • We do not replicate other cake artists’ work exactly.

  • Final design sketches (if provided) are for concept reference only.

  • Colors may vary slightly due to lighting, edible coloring limitations, and printing differences.

15. Venue Coordination

  • Client must provide:

    • Venue name and address

    • Delivery time window

    • Contact person (planner, coordinator, or venue manager

  • We are not responsible for venue restrictions, delays, or access limitations.

16. Delivery & Setup (Wedding Cakes

  • Delivery fees are based on distance and setup requirements.

  • Once the cake is delivered and set up, responsibility transfers to the client/venue.

  • We are not responsible for damage caused by:

    • Venue staff

    • Guests

    • Outdoor weather conditions (heat, humidity, wind)

    • Movement of the cake after setup

17. Outdoor & Weather Disclaimer

  • Cakes displayed outdoors are subject to melting, shifting, or structural instability.

  • Buttercream and fondant are sensitive to heat and humidity.

  • We strongly recommend shaded or indoor placement.

  • Client assumes full responsibility for weather-related damage.

18. Cake Cutting & Servings

  • Serving size estimates are based on industry-standard portions (approximately 1"x1''x5'')  

  • We are not responsible for reduced servings due to larger slices cut by venue staff.

19. Fresh Flowers & Decorative Elements

  • If florist provides fresh flowers, they must deliver them directly to the venue or to us at least 2 hours before setup.

  • We are not responsible for the safety or freshness of florist-provided florals.

  • All non-edible supports must be removed before serving.

20. Postponement Policy

  • If your wedding date changes, we will make every effort to accommodate the new date based on availability.

  • Deposits are transferable only if the new date is available.

  • If we are unavailable for the new date, the deposit remains non-refundable.

21. Force Majeure

  • In the event of unforeseen emergencies, natural disasters, government restrictions, or circumstances beyond our control, liability is limited to the amount paid.
